RADIANT RUIN is the closing ri tual for the most recent cycle of NoVoGRAFíAS by Logan Phillips. A gallery sho w curated by Phillips and Sydney Ballesteros of COMMUNION featuring a set of 21 metal prints, each in an edition of one, never to be repro duced in this format. The prints are drawn from Phillips' work in the triptych of the "urban psychogeography spellbooks" NoVoGRAFÍAS 02, 03 & 04. Combining elements of photography, collage, sigilism and visual poetry, these images come from the intersections of dream logic and the q uotidian built environment, exploring cycles of capitalist colonialism and concurrent time, as witnessed from the vantage of Phillips' home in downt own Tucson, Arizona.

Since 2010 the NoVoGRAFÍAS series has been poet Logan Phillips' vehicle to research and develop new approaches to writing and performance. “Becoming My Portrait,” 2024, is a s ilent projection. This work marks a return to the apparatus while maintain ing a dialogue with Warden’s cameraless photographs. The durational self-p ortrait was exposed in camera with 16mm black-and-white reversal film. Aft er development, Warden used the same process as in the “Mimesis” series to progressively break down the emulsion of the film. As the granules of sil ver begin to unbind themselves from the deteriorating emulsion layer, her gaze at the viewer is unflinching. She remains present whether the viewer can see her or not.
