Saturday Jan 31st at 7PM Wave Archive presents Jazzy Boho’s Erotic Hauntology — a community film screening and discussion featuring Y2KAGE and Cyberfuck, in conversation with Jazzy Boho and writer Aaron Cargile from Arizona Incinerated, moderated by Chinese Chorizo Project’s Feng-Feng Yeh.
Made in collaboration with Tucson’s underground queer arts community, Jazzy’s Erotic Hauntology explores liberation from the seductive dead ended feedback loops of the 21st century—at the intersection of humanity, technology, politics, religion, sex, and culture, with a playful and emotional style all their own—their films fiercely satirize the nostalgic curated memories of the American identity, incisively dismantle the Neoliberal system’s submission to supremacy, and reimagine fresh futures in our present through a queer, historical, and erotic lens.
Featuring the internationally acclaimed short film Y2KAGE—a dazzling sexual allegory for America’s post-9/11 surveillance state, about virtual pets in an age of mass surveillance. Followed by the Tucson cult classic Cyberfuck: The Movie — a feature length satirical documentary-musical about the true history of the World Wide Web. Featuring drag queens and re-edited instructional VHS tapes, hacking AI, the “end of history”, and the colonization of cyberspace.
