🌵🐀 Desert Rat Cinema presents the ‘RATICAL’ QUEER FILM CHALLENGE ⚧️📽️—an anti capitalist experimental film event about connecting Tucson’s Queer film community, and working with what’s around you to create what you’ve never seen! 🔥👀

The FIRST 15 FILMMAKERS to sign up and complete their short film by 7/13 will be screened at our next event in July!

✍️ SIGN UP IN PERSON and connect with other artists during our FREE radical queer film mixer on SATURDAY, JUNE 27th, 7-9PM at @FreeAssociatesllc, 343 N Hoff Ave—featuring a short presentation by @JazzyBoho about Underground Filmmaking techniques, and a screening of experimental short films by Arizona filmmakers! 🎞️

🎬 CHALLENGE RULES: 🎬
- Experiment: create what you’ve never seen!
- Filmmakers must be 18+
- No hate speech, violence, harassment (use viewer advisories where needed)
- Runtime: minimum of 5 seconds, and no longer than 2 mins (including credits)
- Submissions: must be .mov or .mp4 and sent as a downloadable link (such as google drive) emailed to DesertRatCasting@gmail.com
- Deadline: Monday, July 13th, 2026
