@DesertRatCinema is bringing back Tucson’s micro-cinema at @WaveArchive with a brand-new monthly film event dedicated to radical queer and revolutionary anti-capitalist cinema from all genres, featuring filmmakers from Tucson and around the world!


We’re looking for radical short films under 15 minutes for our monthly film screenings!

We accept all genres—narrative, documentary, experimental, erotic, music videos, and everything in between. We’re looking for work that is radical, queer, revolutionary, and/or anti-capitalist in nature.

Submitted films are not guaranteed to screen. Selected filmmakers will be notified via email. We prioritize local filmmakers, but welcome submissions from Tucson, across Arizona, and around the world.

Filmmakers must be 18+. No hate speech, violence, or harassment. Please include viewer advisories where appropriate.

Desert Rat Cinema is a transgender-and queer-led collective of underground filmmakers based in Arizona. We host community-centered events dedicated to nurturing radical queer and revolutionary anti-capitalist filmmaking. Our monthly screening at Wave Archive brings Tucson’s queer community together to meet, connect, and share the art we create with whatever we have around us.
